Pisciotta

Oil town and blue flag of Italy: a visit not to be missed in one of the coastal resorts of the Cilento which can be proud of one of the cleanest seas and an attractive village on the top of a hill covered by lush olive groves.
Just in this area produces an oil with excellent qualitative and organoleptic characteristics thanks to the presence of a particular plant: the Pisciottana. In the medieval village that gathers around Palazzo Ciaccio, notable is the church of SS. Peter and Paul. A scenic drive east of the town leading to Marina di Pisciotta, seaside prominent locations where it still is practiced the oldest of anchovy fishing with menaica, a network of large mesh drifting that allows the selection of fish and processing particular. The result is a more delicate and tasty meat.
