It is best known tourist resort of the entire Cilento Coast. The town, lying on a peninsula that stretches between the Cyclops the beach and the port inlet, owes its fame to the Club Mediterranee that, in the '50s and' 60s, decreed the rise in international tourist firmament.
The Natural Arch anticipates the suggestions of numerous caves and caverns that line the jagged ridge. Palinuro, while grown considerably in the last fifty years for reasons related to tourism, it does not offer great insights of interest except for some building of historical significance, such as Rinaldi Palace, or Palazzo Murat, one of the oldest buildings. Unfortunately these blocks were heavily changed from its original appearance.

Of great interest in the locality Ficocella is the Antiquarian, established in 1954 in order to make the archaeological finds discovered in the area usable. The small museum houses ceramics and furnishings of about 6000 years ago.
